As we upgrade the existing Auto Bidding (Standard) feature to GMV Max Auto Bidding, all active and scheduled Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns will be migrated in Q4 2024. On the date of Migration, Sellers will be given the option to upgrade all or selected Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns to GMV Max Auto Bidding.

Similar to GMV Max Custom ROAS, a Product running on a GMV Max Auto Bidding campaign cannot have any concurrent Ads. Hence, upgrading your Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns will mean that the campaign duration and budget of all associated campaigns running for the same Product will be merged into a newly created GMV Max Auto Bidding campaign.
If sellers upgrade their Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns to GMV Max Auto Bidding before Sunset Day,
Auto Bidding (Standard) will be fully sunsetted by end-2024. If Sellers do not upgrade their Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns by Sunset Day, all Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns will be automatically stopped on Sunset Day and Sellers will not be able to restart the campaigns. Non-Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns will continue to run as usual.
1. Similar to GMV Max Custom ROAS, Placement selection for GMV Max Auto Bidding campaigns will be ALL.
This allows Shopee to monitor and dynamically adjust bid prices across different environments to ensure that the overall spending is kept within the budget constraint and is balanced against the total Product GMV.
With Auto Bidding (Standard), sellers can choose their ad placement settings
With the new GMV Max Auto Bidding, sellers can no longer choose their placement settings
2. With GMV Max Auto Bidding, Sellers will only be able to select a single item for each campaign.
With Auto Bidding (Standard), sellers can manually select multiple products for each ad
With GMV Max Auto Bidding, sellers can only select 1 product for each ad
3. With GMV Max Auto Bidding, Advertisers have visibility into the system-estimated target ROAS and weekly order numbers, depending on their budget and item choice. Currently, Product Ads - Auto Bidding campaigns do not display any system estimates.
Current Auto Bidding (Standard) has limited information on system-estimates
GMV Max Auto Bidding will provide advertisers with upfront information on system-estimates
On the Date of Upgrading, all Sellers will receive a prompt upon 1st login to Shopee Ads and be informed to upgrade their Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns to GMV Max Auto Bidding.
Within 7 days, Sellers can continue to edit and top-up their Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns if they choose not to upgrade. Sellers who have not selected to upgrade their Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns during this period will also receive supplementary prompts to complete the upgrade.
Sellers will be notified that they can no longer edit their Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns and be prompted to upgrade their Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns once again. They will not be able to edit or top up their Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns until the campaign ends OR the budget is fully utilized, whichever comes first.
From now till the Sunset Date, Shopee Ads will continue to prompt Sellers to complete the upgrade of Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns to GMV Max Auto Bidding.
Sellers will be notified that all active and scheduled Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns will be stopped automatically and cannot be restarted, with continuous prompts to upgrade their remaining Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns.
If sellers still have not upgraded their Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns by Sunset Day:
1. All active or scheduled Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns will automatically be stopped and cannot be restarted. Sellers may still access and view the campaign performances within Shopee campaigns but will not be able to restart the campaigns.
2. For item_ids with concurrent campaigns (Auto Bidding (Standard) + Other campaigns), Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns associated to the same Item_id will be stopped while Non-Auto Bidding (Standard) associated campaigns will continue to run normally and be accessible on the Ads Listing page.
Sellers will be prompted to and are strongly advised to review all paused old Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns once the new GMV Max Auto Bidding campaigns have been merged and created.
After the Upgrade Date, Sellers can choose to upgrade Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns through 2 entry points:
1. Shopee Ads via Seller Center PC > Pop-up Prompt upon 1st Login
2. Shopee Ads via Seller Center PC > Recommendations Card
Pop-up Prompt on Shopee Ads, via Seller Center PC
Recommendations Card on Shopee Ads, via Seller Center PC
After Sellers click on “Upgrade All” / “Review Ads”, an item list of Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns that need to be upgraded will be displayed. Sellers can choose to upgrade for specific items or to bulk upgrade all Auto Bidding (Standard) campaigns.
