Using Shopee Live Ads to Advertise Your Products

Help shoppers discover your livestreams and increase your product sales and orders during your live sessions via Live Ads. You can now boost visibility of your live streams to shoppers to maximise each live session by appearing in prominent positions on ShopeeLive Discover and ShopeeLive For You pages with Live Ads. 


Note*: Live Ads is only available for whitelisted sellers and affiliates.

How do I get started?

Shopee makes it easy for you to create Live Ads to reach potential shoppers


  1. Set up your Shopee Ads account [New Shopee/non-Ads Users only

For new to Shopee or to Shopee Ads and have an existing shop account, set up your Shopee Ads account by topping up with ad credits via Seller Centre > Marketing Centre > Shopee Ads. You can do so via Web or APP.

This ensures that you have sufficient ad credits in your ad wallet to run your Live ad. Learn more on how to top up your ad credits here.


  1. Select Promote Live to create Live Ads 

On Web - Seller Center:

Go to Seller Centre and select Shopee Ads under the Marketing Centre to create a new Live Ad.

On App - Shopee Live room creation:

Click on the ‘Promote’ icon in the Shopee Live room to set up your Live Ads

  1. Set your campaign name, date, time period and budget 

Your ad will run during the scheduled time period within the specified date range that was set up. Your ad will stop running when whichever of the following occurs:

  1. your daily budget has been used up
  2. your ad duration has ended
  3. Your livestreaming session has ended


  1. Select your Objectives

Pick the objective that best suits your business goals and Shopee will target potential shoppers most relevant to your selected objective within your set budget and schedule. There will be two options to choose, Maximise Views or Maximise GMV


Maximise Views will automatically optimise your ad to maximise the delivery of your ad.

Maximise GMV will automatically optimise your ad towards a higher Return on Ad Spend (ROAS).

Where do Shopee Live Ads appear?

Live Ads will be displayed in prominent positions on ShopeeLive Landing Page, Discover and For you. Live Ads will also be shown when shoppers are browsing and scrolling through the different live streams.

How are my Shopee Live Ads shown to shoppers?

Shopee's algorithm will automatically optimise your ads to maximise its exposure to shoppers who have recently engaged or purchased from stores and live streams that are similar or complementary to yours. 


How well your ad performs is determined by several factors, one of which is the Quality score which measures how relevant and appealing your Live Ads are to shoppers. A higher quality score indicates that your live stream is more likely to have conversions compared to other sellers.


Here are some tips on how to boost your Quality score:

  1. Use attractive live covers: showcase key products or highlight live stream on-air activities to increase chances of turning viewers into buyers 
  2. Craft an engaging live stream title and description: Make your live stream stand out with a relevant title and product descriptions 
  3. Build up positive reviews: maintain high product ratings and reviews and sold counts
  4. Offer competitive prices: participate in promotional program like Free Shipping and Cashback and offer promotional prices to attract more potential buyers 
  5. Ensure relevance of streamer to product: your live stream should match the style of the product to better engage shoppers on the products


How will I be charged? 

You will only be charged when shoppers view your Live ad when there is an active Shopee Live room during the ads scheduled date and time period. Live Ads charge based on cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM). The cost is deducted from your Ads credit balance


Can I edit my Live Ads after it has begun?

On Web - Seller Center

Live Ad Campaign Name cannot be changed upon ad creation. You can edit the budget and time period of ongoing and scheduled Live Ads.


On App

Shopee Live Room

If there are ongoing or upcoming promotions, you may edit the budget of ongoing and scheduled Live Ads via the Budget field.



In Live Center, click on Live Ads to access your Live Ads homepage. You may edit the budget of ongoing and scheduled Live Ads by clicking the Budget field in the Ad Details page.


Can I track the performance of my Live Ads?


You can track the performance of your Live Ads up to the past 6 months on web and up to the past 3 months on APP. You can check the dashboards on the Live Ads homepage in seller Centre or Live Centre to track the number of views, orders and other metrics generated by your ads.

If you are in the Shopee Live Room, you are also able to monitor the current day's ads performance by clicking on the ‘Promote’ button and selecting the individual ad for more details.


How to pause/stop my Live Ads?

On web - seller centre

  1. To pause the ad, visit the Ad Detail page and click Pause.
  2. Alternatively, click on Stop to end the ad completely.
