[New Update] View and Manage your Ads Credits More Easily

An update on Ads Credits expiry period visibility, effective on 1 November 2026.

Overview

You can now view clearer information about your available Paid Ads Credits and their validity period in the Seller Centre, making it easier to plan campaigns and use your Ads Credits. Paid Ads Credits on Shopee have a 6 months validity period under Shopee's Terms of Service.

From 00:00:00, 1 November 2026:

  1. Expiry information for newly purchased Paid Ads Credits will be shown more clearly in the Seller Centre.
  2. Any pre-existing Paid Ads Credits that do not currently display an expiry date will remain available for use until 23:59:59, 30 April 2027.
  3. Free Ads Credits will expire 30 days from the date they are credited.

When will this take effect?

Between 1 and 31 October 2026, sellers have a transition period to review their Paid Ads Credits Balance and plan campaign budgets accordingly, with no impact to any credits during this time.

From 00:00:00, 1 November 2026, expiry dates will be displayed and tracked for all Paid Ads Credits. If you have a pre-existing credits balance without an expiry date displayed, these credits can continue to be used until 23:59:59, 30 April 2027.

How do the expiry credits work?

Each type of Paid Ads Credit follows a fixed validity period, counted from a specific timeline.

Paid Ads Credits, whether from a manual or auto top-up, expire 180 days from the date of purchase or top-up. Free Ads Credits expire 30 days from the date they are credited to your account. Pre-existing Paid Ads Credits that previously had no expiry date displayed will default to a validity period of 180 days from 1 November 2026, regardless of when they were originally credited. Credit usage is automatically prioritised toward the earliest expiring credits of your balance.

Who does this apply to?

This applies to all Shopee Sellers (Except Cross Border) who hold an Ads Credits balance, whether through a manual top-up or credited as free credits. It also applies to sellers on Shopee Ads Growth Plan, whose Auto Top-Up (Escrow) credits are considered as Paid Ads Credits and follow the same 180 days validity from the date each top up is credited.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Is this a new policy ?

No. Paid Ads Credits have an existing 6 months validity period under Shopee's Terms of Service, Section 21, since it was first introduced. This update gives sellers a clearer view of these expiry dates via the Seller Centre, and gives sellers more time and visibility to plan how they use their credits.

2. Will I lose credits immediately?

No. Pre-existing Paid Ads Credits without a prior expiry date are given a one-month grace period before the 180 days validity period begins on [00:00:00, 1 November 2026]. Pre-existing credit balance will be valid until [23:59:59, 30 April 2027].

3. What happens to Ads Credits purchase after 1 November 2026?

Paid Ads Credits purchased from this date onward will be valid for 180 days from the date of purchase, with the validity date clearly shown in Seller Centre.

4. Will I be notified before my Ads Credits expire?

Yes. Sellers with current paid ads credits balance without expiry date displayed will receive reminder via Seller Centre notifications monthly from November 2026 to April 2027. The credits will remain valid until [23:59:59, 30 April 2027], with the expiry taking effect on 1 May 2027.

For new ads credits purchases, the expiry date will be reflected in the Seller Centre.

5. Can expired Paid Ads Credits be refunded or restored?

No. Unused Paid Ads Credits cannot be refunded once they expire. We encourage you to check your balance regularly in the Seller Centre and plan your campaigns accordingly.

6. Will this apply to Ads Growth Plan auto top-up credits?

Yes, Auto Top-Up (Escrow) credits under the Ads Growth Plan follow the same 180 days validity period as other Paid Ads Credits, giving sellers the same validity view across credits.
